Most of us men who are looking a little thin around the top will be happy to know that there are some medical and scientific treatments for baldness which do not incorporate getting plugs or skin grafts. Facts are that under 50 percent of men suffer from one form of baldness or another whether that is complete baldness all over or just the gradual thinning of hair right across the head. This is referred to as male pattern baldness and generally has effect by the age of fifty. There is a common pattern which can be followed in many men which is why it is called male pattern baldness. Even in primates such as chips and orangoutangs there are baldness pattern which are related to family history and this is where most experiments with baldness cures start.

In America alone men are spending up to one billion dollars combined in the search for a cure for baldness. Drug therapy has been known to work in some cases however for many men there is nothing that works consistently. Hormone treatment is one of the new working cures for male pattern baldness which has shown great promise for men you have a family history of baldness. If caught early these hormones can actually prevent the baldness from spreading to far however like critics say, if you don’t go bald then how do you know the hormones are working or if you are just not balding at all. Make sure that if you are purchasing a product which claims to prevent or even cure baldness that you actually know somebody who has used it first and proven that it works. In many cases you will only find the sales reps stating that these products work, men that never lose hair at all.
